\u00a0Yeah, it was&#8230;we opened a bottle of Tertre du Moulin 2006 Cuvee Millesimee French Bordeaux. \u00a0The goal here was to help us learn more about French wine. \u00a0We don&#8217;t know anything&#8230;and the whole naming convention makes it challenging. \u00a0The growing regions in France dictate what variety of grape is grown there so, only Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are grown in the Bordeaux region. \u00a0Well, that&#8217;s what we had. \u00a0We opened it, and neither of us liked it. \u00a0It had a musty smell and was <em>very<\/em> tannic in the mouth. \u00a0What should we do about that? \u00a0Open something we know would be delicious, right? \u00a0A Rotta 2005 Cabernet Franc! \u00a0Smooth, rich and tasty. \u00a0Now, we weren&#8217;t trying to compare these two wines side by side, we&#8217;ll do that another day&#8230;we just wanted to taste a familiar local red next to the French red. \u00a0Not really an experiment but more of a rescue attempt. \u00a0We&#8217;ll try this French thing again&#8230;but perhaps take a different approach!<\/p>\n<p>[youtube]http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ldzzuqFUXek[\/youtube]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sound weird?
