Our 8 year-old boy, Sammy, even loves the food there. On this visit we shared oysters, escargot, clam chowder, calamari, and a sea bass dish. Like I said, it\u2019s a terrific Central Coast restaurant worth checking out if you have not. No reservations, first come first served and cash or local check only, I believe.<\/p>\n
Another stop we tend to make when over there is Black Hand Cellars<\/a> right on Main Street. The owner, Tom, was in when we went so he poured for us and it was cool catching up with him. Fun spot, good wine, and apparently, we had not been in some time because his tasting room has expanded. Oh, and try the cider, it was damn good!<\/p>\n While at Black Hand Cellars, Tom and his friend in there recommended a couple of restaurants to us for dinner that night. One restaurant was Madeline\u2019s<\/a>, which we\u2019ve heard of but had never eaten there. Well, turned out to be an excellent recommendation. At Madeline\u2019s we shared a scallop dish, I had the filet mignon, Sammy had the salmon, and Annie had the duck breast. It was all done perfectly! Sammy had ice cream for dessert, of course, while Annie and I enjoyed the rest of our wine. Great food and awesome service!<\/p>\n There you have it, a good, quick trip to get away from the house for a couple of days. That said, I suck at getting into \u201cvacation mode\u201d. It took me the first night and the next morning to kind of get in to it but I was able to chill a little bit.
