On June 6, 2021 at 12:04 am my Facebook account was successfully hacked in to. I received a few emails from Facebook regarding this, the first one coming at 11:28 pm (June 5) and it included the password reset code. Then another email at 11:58 pm (June 5) saying an unusual login from a device or location you don\u2019t usually use. It said it was near Greenville, Delaware. Then another email with a recovery code.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile I was asleep. When I woke up and started dealing with the emails nothing worked to recover my account. Facebook customer support is completely lacking. You call a Facebook phone number and the automated voice says they do not do phone call support. Several links we\u2019ve tried to go to say the links are invalid or there is literally nothing on those pages.<\/p>\n
Interestingly, Facebook emailed my proper email address, it\u2019s a gmail account, but when I go in to have them send me a new recovery code it has an old email address listed that is no longer valid, therefore I cannot receive a new recovery code to get into my account to regain control. Then, the bank card associated to my Facebook account for my work was charged over $500 but luckily my wife got a text from our bank and she was able to deny the charge.<\/p>\n
So, anyways, the moral of the story is that Facebook customer service is a complete pile of shit. If something was wrong with our internet or cell phones or electricity, you would be able to eventually get to someone that could likely help you. That\u2019s what businesses do. Customer service is important but apparently not to Zuckerberg or his team. It\u2019s a real bummer that someone can essentially steal your identity, in this case my personal Facebook account, and there is nobody that can help.<\/p>\n
