Baseball: Part 1 – I have seen photos of me when I was roughly 4 years old, living in Redding, CA hitting a wiffle ball that my dad tied a string to that ran to the rafters in the garage. I believe, years later he told me a story about how I would whack away at it and then over time I would have wrapped the string around the rafters and he\u2019d have to come out and undo it and let me start whacking away at it again. That is my first memory of anything related to baseball.<\/p>\n
My first actual memory without hearing stories to corroborate it, was my grandfather (Papa, my mom\u2019s dad) taking me (along with Nana and my older sister) to my first professional baseball game. He had season tickets to the Los Angeles Dodgers. I was roughly 5 years old, so that would have been around 1981 (again, I\u2019m guessing here).
