Graveyard Vineyards<\/a> is a curious name, but they’ve got serious wines! The name comes from their vineyard location; perched up above the graveyard out in San Miguel. Don’t let that intimidate you, it’s a charming spot, and they’ve managed to make quite a brand around the fact that they’re overlooking a yard full of gravestones.<\/p>\n

The current situation for Paula and Rob Campbell-Taylor of Graveyard is that they’re using a temporary location right downtown in Paso Robles for their tasting room while they build their dream spot up on the hill. They were pouring their wines right out of their home up on that hill, and have since started construction on the new facility. We visited Graveyard a few years ago at their home, and were so impressed with the level of personal attention and passion that Paula and Rob had.<\/p>\n

We sat out on the porch with Rob while we tasted, then Paula took us on a tour of her kitchen (Annie likes cool kitchens!) and pointed out all the interesting points around the property. When you visit and taste their wines, you’ll taste everything from Sauvignon Blanc, to Rose, to Syrah, and some award winning blends. You don’t need us to tell you about that part though, it’s all about the experience!<\/p>\n

Awesome story: on our first visit, Annie bought a Graveyard Vineyards sweatshirt, which has been well-worn since then! One Sunday morning, while browsing through the veggies at the local Vons, Paula spotted Annie in that sweatshirt and complimented her on it! When we were in tasting the other day, they both remembered that sweatshirt spotting; Paula saying it made her day to see somebody out wearing such a “loved” Graveyard sweatshirt, and Annie running home to tell Hoot about how the winery owner had happily called her out in the produce department. Needless to say, we got Annie another sweatshirt this last visit…and are sure it will get the same mileage as the previous one!<\/p>\n

Here’s a huge “CHEERS” to Paula and Rob at Graveyard Vineyards for sharing the whole package with us! They’ve got a very cool location (both downtown and out in San Miguel), they’ve got delicious wines with something for every palate, and they’ve got awesome customer service! Isn’t that why we go wine tasting? For the experience? Well, that’s why we do…and why we put all that information up here for you!<\/p>\n
