Take Food, Wine, Sustainable vendors, foodies and winos, all gathered together at a beautiful venue and you’ve got an excellent event! The focus of this event is featuring products that use local resources and bring them to you in a manner that supports the environment. The Earth Day Food and Wine Festival<\/a> is put on by the Central Coast Vineyard Team <\/a>(CCVT) and it’s a first class experience!<\/p>\n

Imagine vineyards that produce grapes in a way that doesn’t tax the environment; restaurants that bring food to your table in a way that supports local growers; and resources that allow all of this to happen. This is what the Earth Day Food and Wine Festival seeks to celebrate! They’re showcasing the possibility of creating a lighter footprint on the environment.<\/p>\n

We showed up at the event, hosted by Pomar Junction Vineyard and Winery<\/a>, and one of the first things we noticed was the incredible vibe of the whole thing; from the layout of the vendors to the ample recycling bins, to the biodegradable plates and utensils. The live music was awesome, and attendees had a great time dancing to the groove of Still Time<\/a> with the backdrop of rolling vineyards and vintage rail cars.<\/p>\n

If you’re at all interested in things that are sustainable, food, wine, local products and environmentally friendly processes, then this is the event for you. We talked to winemakers that focus on production practices that use minimal resources, we talked to food vendors that use all local and recyclable resources, and we chatted with supporting resources like falconers used to control pests in the vineyards, and solar energy providers.<\/p>\n

All in all, this was a spectacular event that was humming with the contagious vibe of sustainability; the kind of experience that makes you want to recycle more, buy local, and cut back on consumption of resources!<\/p>\n

Kudos to the CCVT, Pomar Junction, and all the vendors for throwing another awesome experience! Can’t wait til next year!<\/p>\n
