\"politics\"<\/a>Did I make you grimace a bit? Those three words instantly set off certain emotions. From my perspective they are three subjects that people become very passionate about and often get overheated about. We all know what happens in a room of people when you start talking politics and religion\u2026but have you noticed it\u2019s kind of the same thing with the subject of parenting?<\/p>\n

Since we first got pregnant\u2026the one which resulted in a miscarriage\u2026I have been somewhat amazed to find out just how obnoxious some people can be. Some people thought I was wrong for announcing we were pregnant before we hit the three month mark. I also know some people didn\u2019t like that I announced it via my blog. Some folks think it\u2019s dumb that we moved into a house where the entire living part of the house is upstairs\u2026only the garage and entry way are downstairs. Some people think it\u2019s stupid that my wife had sips of wine here and there during pregnancy. I could go on but you get the idea.<\/p>\n

My initial response is always slightly agitated and involves several curse words but I thought I\u2019d approach it differently this time.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the point to all the criticism?<\/p>\n

At the end of the day, my wife and I are responsible for any good or bad in our life and we need to be accountable for it. If I decide to wear pink shorts, dab a drop of wine on my sons lip, buy this house, vote for that guy, or send my kid to military school\u2026it\u2019s on me. It\u2019s not on you. You know what\u2026I\u2019m guilty too. I criticize people and situations but I\u2019ve done relatively well at doing it away from that person or situation.<\/p>\n

Annie and I have talked a lot about the negativity and we really want to keep it under control. It\u2019s hard enough to go through this life without being run down or second guessed\u2026I don\u2019t want to add to it. It goes back to that saying that alludes to thinking about what you have to say before you say it. Some things just were not meant to leave your mouth!<\/p>\n
