My answer is “no”, but I know some people like to freak out over wording. I can say that I do, and always will love Sammy but I\u2019ll tell you right now, yesterday when I took him to a couple of job sites with me and he cried\u2026but mostly screamed\u2026for 45 minutes in my truck with me two feet away\u2026I didn\u2019t like him very much.<\/p>\n

Yes, I know, he can\u2019t help it and it\u2019s not his fault. I get that. Truly I do, but I have feelings too (said somewhat sarcastically). Annie and I have not had many (actually, pretty much zero) times to take him out in a car on our own\u2026meaning me by myself with him or Annie by herself with him. Due to me being the \u201cwork at home dad\u201d and having two businesses to take care of (one requiring me to be out of the house on occasion) there will be times I need to throw him in the car seat and hit the road.<\/p>\n

Yesterday was the second or third time I have had to do that and this was the longest time away from the house for me with him on my own. It was a challenge. Not because of food, diapers, or anything else\u2026simply because of that high pitched wailing he did in an enclosed capsule with my one good ear (mostly deaf in my left ear) two feet from his noise maker.<\/p>\n

After a good night’s sleep and being more removed from that situation, I\u2019m okay now\u2026just sayin\u2019.<\/p>\n

The point to all this is that I think I knew that would happen eventually but I don\u2019t think I was prepared for how much it was like nails on the chalk board. It won\u2019t prevent me from taking him out again, I\u2019m not that bothered by it, but it definitely made me think and it was a good test for me in the end.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m glad I waited until I was 35 to have a kid\u2026if I was 20 and had to deal with that\u2026well, let\u2019s just say I probably would have slept with a whiskey bottle last night. All jokes aside (wasn\u2019t really joking), parenting is real work and some days that work is hard but it doesn\u2019t matter, as the parent I (we) have to step up and handle it. I\u2019m sure there are plenty more rough days ahead but all those smiles from the little dude make up for it!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
