Sammy’s 2nd Christmas<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Last year Sammy was about 2 \u00c2\u00bd months old at Christmas and, I will speak for myself, I was still kind of in the \u00e2??new parent fog\u00e2?\u009d. Don\u00e2??t get me wrong, I remember much of what went down and have great memories of decorating the house last year and carrying Sammy around to show him the Christmas tree or the lights I put out back\u00e2?\u00a6but life went from \u00e2??normal\u00e2?\u009d to surreal and I had not quite caught up to that.<\/p>\n

This year is a bit different. I\u00e2??ve had an additional year to get used to things and find out which end was up. I\u00e2??ve had a year of seeing Sammy grow, evolve, learn, and develop a personality while finding out who I am now\u00e2?\u00a6not that I am someone different but there is definitely a redefined Matt. I\u00e2??m pretty sure that\u00e2??s a normal part of this parenting thing.<\/p>\n

There\u00e2??s not much to say about Sammy\u00e2??s second Christmas other than I am glad he came into our lives and I look forward to my journey with him for as long as I am allowed to be on it. I really look forward to developing our own traditions and experiencing our kind of Christmas fun. To Sammy, Merry Second Christmas. In 14 months you have filled my life with thoughts and emotions I did not know possible. I love you very much and thank you!<\/p>\n

Now to some Christmas thoughts\u00e2?\u00a6<\/h3>\n

What are we doing? Why are we here? What\u00e2??s the point of doing this whole Christmas thing? What\u00e2??s the point or purpose to any of this hamster wheel crap we\u00e2??re doing?<\/p>\n

It\u00e2??s quite fascinating to me just how easy it is for us to go into auto pilot mode. In fact, I\u00e2??ll go so far as to say it\u00e2??s fascinating to me just how much we seem to WANT to be in auto pilot mode. This combined with all the negativity that we see floating around really have me perplexed. Here are some facts:<\/p>\n

~Life is short\u00e2?\u00a6even if you live to be 100, it\u00e2??s short. The problem is we don\u00e2??t know when we\u00e2??ll be gone so enjoy it, relax, choose to do the things that matter\u00e2?\u00a6mostly, choose to be happy and do good.<\/p>\n

~Negativity sucks. If you don\u00e2??t think it sucks than you suck\u00e2?\u00a6sorry, just being blunt. There\u00e2??s a difference between being negative and venting. Feel free to vent. We all need to vent from time to time but if you\u00e2??re venting or being negative more than you\u00e2??re being positive you\u00e2??re doing something wrong.<\/p>\n

~Living on auto pilot is, quite frankly, the biggest waste of a life in my mind. I can also say that living your life on auto pilot is not living at all. I know it\u00e2??s easy to fall into ruts and routines\u00e2?\u00a6I do it all the time. The goal is to be mindful of this and once aware you are on auto pilot do something different\u00e2?\u00a6do a lot vimax online semenax incredible site<\/a> of things different, if you can\u00e2?\u00a6if not do at least one thing different and wake the hell up.<\/p>\n

~We can always do more. We can do more good in the world, we can help more people, we can work out harder, we can eat healthier, we can read more, we can create things more, we can hug more, we can spend more time with our children and others we love and care about, we can work at being better every day\u00e2?\u00a6and the minute you think you\u00e2??ve done all you can shut up and do more.<\/p>\n

These are all things I think about a lot. These are all things Annie and I talk about a lot and that I write about often. I truly like the idea of getting out of our own way and living this life to the fullest. You see, the reason many of us aren\u00e2??t capable of this is because we (our brain, our fear) are in the way.<\/p>\n

Why am I rambling on about this on a \u00e2??Christmas\u00e2?\u009d blog post? I\u00e2??m not really sure but I think it\u00e2??s because I\u00e2??m tired. I\u00e2??m tired of all the negativity and crap that we fill our lives with. There have been two recent deaths that may be the cause of me thinking like this\u00e2?\u00a6one was unexpected but passed away from a heart attack and the other was from a horrific tragedy here in Paso that I wrote about on our Hoot n Annie blog<\/a>. The point is\u00e2?\u00a6if we\u00e2??re on auto pilot, if we\u00e2??re not happy, if our lives are filled with negativity\u00e2?\u00a6what\u00e2??s the point? Why live this life?<\/p>\n

It\u00e2??s just a time for another reminder. Live more, laugh more, love more, say hi more, tell people how you feel more, give more, hug more, enjoy more and worry less\u00e2?\u00a6just do whatever it takes to put more good in the world and less crap. We can all afford to do that and we can all start right now. There\u00e2??s enough pain, hurt, sadness, tragedy\u00e2?\u00a6do something to help fight that.<\/p>\n

I\u00e2??ll start: I am extremely grateful for all the people in my life. The people I only know online, the people I know off line, the people I see rarely, the people I see every day\u00e2?\u00a6you guys are %$&#ing awesome\u00e2?\u00a6and I mean that with every fiber of my being. The people that come in and out of my life are amazing and those that remain on some level in my life are there for a reason\u00e2?\u00a6because I choose that. If you\u00e2??re reading this know that I am thankful.<\/p>\n

Lastly, I am very thankful for Annie. We\u00e2??ve done lots of awesome stuff together but I have a feeling there is bigger stuff coming on the horizon. I feel this in my gut and I can sense it from conversations we\u00e2??ve been having. This life is all about adventures, experiments, and exploration\u00e2?\u00a6so let\u00e2??s get busy.<\/p>\n
