So here we are, Sammy is just about to be 16 months old and he\u00e2\u0080\u0099s walking. He took his first step two to three months back but as far as walking a decent distance, that started sometime last week. Since then he\u00e2\u0080\u0099s been on a mission. It\u00e2\u0080\u0099s actually quite remarkable to watch the evolution.<\/p>\n
In fact, the entire process has been rather surreal and amazing. Watching a child go from laying on their back all the time, to rolling over, to army crawling, to regular crawling and now the big one\u00e2\u0080\u00a6walking\u00e2\u0080\u00a6what a trip. He\u00e2\u0080\u0099s also been saying real words and actually knows what they mean. He said things like \u00e2\u0080\u009cdadadada\u00e2\u0080\u009d or \u00e2\u0080\u009cmamamama\u00e2\u0080\u009d early on but to me first words are ones that are understood by the child.<\/p>\n
He says things like hat, ball, mom, dad, and even pretty close to saying \u00e2\u0080\u009cnow what\u00e2\u0080\u009d. They want to see their children developing normally obviously but it\u00e2\u0080\u0099s also just damn cute.<\/p>\n All of this leads me back to what I\u00e2\u0080\u0099ve said a hundred times, none of us are parenting the same way. Do what feels right for you and your child. We tend to listen too much to \u00e2\u0080\u009cexperts\u00e2\u0080\u009d but we also tend to listen too much to societal pressures. These pressures can come from TV, online, and even our own family and friends.<\/p>\n Just do what you want to do and regardless of when your kid walks or talks you\u00e2\u0080\u0099re going to love them no matter what.
