\"photo<\/a>Why do they call it a kid\u00e2??s museum? Are there mini Van Gogh\u00e2??s and Picasso\u00e2??s in there? That question aside, Annie and I decided to take Sammy to the Paso Robles Kids Museum<\/a> for the first time recently. We had only been there once before, long before Sammy was born, to attend a Chamber Mixer. At that time there was not a single thought in my mind that one day we\u00e2??d be bringing a real human kid there.<\/p>\n

Times change\u00e2?\u00a6as you know.<\/p>\n

The Kid\u00e2??s Museum is actually in the old Paso Robles Volunteer Firehouse, which is pretty cool. There are many acknowledgements to the firehouse in the museum, such as an old fire truck, a couple of firemen statues, some fire gear, and the fire pole they used to slide down.<\/p>\n

A couple of things stood out to me: 1) as someone that is a mild germaphobe the place looked really clean and 2) I really liked how many different little play stations they had. As I mentioned earlier they had all the fire truck stuff but they also had a little kid grocery store area, a kitchen where you could play master chef if you want, a little ball pit, a large enclosed ball area, a craft area, a little acting area with costumes, and a lot more.<\/p>\n

Sammy seemed overwhelmed but in a good way. He is still not used to being around that many kids or in a place with that noise level\u00e2?\u00a6that\u00e2??s my thought at least, but he was wide eyed and curious. As he was walking from one thing to the next one lady told Annie that he was very calm. I suppose she meant that in comparison to her child and several others that were running around like they had never been disciplined before. Who knows?<\/p>\n

Overall the place is really cool. As small as Paso Robles is (population roughly 31,000) it\u00e2??s pretty cool how much there is to do here as a family. It\u00e2??s not the biggest kid\u00e2??s museum on the planet but it\u00e2??s perfect for Paso Robles. Whether you have kids or not I think these kinds of places are important to promote and support (through financial donations and volunteering) for the betterment of our kids\u00e2?\u00a6the future.<\/p>\n
