At the end of the day, if you have kids, there’s nothing quite as attractive as doing something for yourself, by yourself, that requires little to no mental effort. Spending the day working, dealing with kids, and all of the other daily tasks that running a household entails, will exhaust a mom or dad physically and mentally like no other job! Here are a few ideas of how to let down and relax for a minute once you have some “me time”. <\/p>\n

1. Social media<\/p>\n

Whether you want to talk with other parents on Mumsnet, or forget about parenting completely on Twitter, it takes mere minutes to sign up for a social network. These sites are perfect for dipping in and out of, when you have free time available<\/a>.<\/p>\n

2. Online casino<\/p>\n

Can’t make it to Vegas any time soon but need to scratch that gambling itch? There is no shortage of reputable casino sites and all you need is a bank account to sign up with one. It\u2019s easy to get caught up, so work out a weekly time limit and budget for yourself. If you don\u2019t want to risk your money you don\u2019t have to put any on the table though; sites such as GamingClub.com\/nz <\/a>allow you to play for free.<\/p>\n

3. Being a blogger<\/p>\n

Feel like getting some stuff off your chest via a blog? You can use a tool like Blogger to create your site and then just pick a subject that interests you to write about<\/a>. This is another activity that you can easily squeeze in around other commitments, just ask us!<\/p>\n

4. Studying online<\/p>\n

Get smart! The Open University is the most famous distance learning provider, but not the only one these days<\/a>. You will need to choose a course that offers you flexibility with the study schedule.<\/p>\n

5. Watching TV<\/p>\n

There are loads of online TV streaming services, like BBC iPlayer, AppleTV, and Netflix<\/a>, with some free and some subscription-based. The shows can be addictive, but you can make your own schedule.<\/p>\n
