\"\"<\/a>We love to socialize, and since we’ve been pregnant, that hasn’t changed much! Well, except the part where I can’t drink, but other than that we still get out and about quite a bit. As you might expect, the topic of conversation is often anything to do with pregnancy\/baby\/birth, etc. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love the input, but it just seems like some people lose their sense of social boundaries when it comes to pregnant chicks. I wanted to share some of the comments, questions, and behavior that we’ve come across…we love it, so keep it comin! <\/p>\n

Questions:<\/p>\n

Q. Was this planned?<\/p>\n

A. Umm, yes, and thank you for asking.<\/p>\n

Q. Who’s the father? (mostly joking…I think)<\/p>\n

A. We’re still waiting for the paternity test results…but we’re narrowing it down to 4 or 5. (Ask a stupid question….)<\/p>\n

Q. How are you feeling?<\/p>\n

A. I feel great!<\/p>\n

Q. Are you going to find out what it is???<\/p>\n

A. Yes, that’s just how we roll. Life has a lot of twists and turns and we like information when it’s available!<\/p>\n

Q. What are you going to name it?<\/p>\n

A. Something really good…we haven’t decided yet. Either that, or we’re just not really saying…(we like to be mysterious sometimes).<\/p>\n

Comments:<\/p>\n

–\u00a0 I LOVED\/HATED being pregnant. (okay, now what do we talk about?)<\/p>\n

– You should find out what it is! (yeah, thanks)<\/p>\n

– You should NOT find out what it is! (yeah, thanks)<\/p>\n

– Not to scare you, but when I was pregnant…(add in any bloody, painful, traumatic, emergency situation that you’d like here)<\/p>\n

– OMG, giving birth is soooo painful! (yeah, I figured, but thanks for pointing that out)<\/p>\n

– Well, once it’s here you can kiss sleep goodbye! (I’m sure we’ll survive, but thanks for the positive encouragement)<\/p>\n

– Your life is never going to be the same! (yeah, cuz there’s gonna be a small child in our house that’s depending on us for its survival, we get it)<\/p>\n

Behavior:<\/p>\n

– Reaching out, over, through, under to rub my belly. (I don’t usually mind, but a little warning is nice).<\/p>\n

– Sharing memories and experiences from their own life. (This is awesome, great to hear people reminisce and revel in the greatness of birth).<\/p>\n

– Treating me like a princess, giving up chairs, carrying things for me, worrying over me. (As much as I appreciate the love and care, I’m still pretty capable of doing everything for myself, but I’m not going to give up the opportunity to use this for some help so keep it comin!)<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The moral of the story that I’m taking away from all this is that people love to share their experiences with pregnant people. There’s just something magical and mysterious about being pregnant and people are drawn to that. It’s been an amazing trip so far and I’m enjoying every moment of it. I love the questions, comments, and behavior that my pregnant belly seems to bring out. It’s a pretty awesome study not only in human behavior, but in getting to know people better in a way that only the miracle of birth can inspire.<\/p>\n
