Let\u2019s take Mayor Joe Blow (clever made up name I know), you have two options; you either make use of that position (or title, or whatever) and do good things or you are doing nothing but filling the space\u2026basically wasting your time and the people\u2019s time. From my experience, and continuing with the example of Mayor, so many people make excuses as to why they can\u2019t make change, make things better, or simply do something productive.<\/p>\n
I can\u2019t do \u201cthis\u201d because the economy is bad. We can\u2019t do that because the city has no money. That can\u2019t be done because _____ (fill in the blank). The message here is simple, I don\u2019t give a damn, YOU (me included) can do something<\/em><\/strong>. Stop filling space and be a Mayor worth remembering (or a garbage man, a writer, a coder, an engineer, etc.), at the very least you could be positive and lead by example.<\/p>\n This life is too precious, too exciting, too worth living\u2026to simply occupy a space. Instead you need to own the space you are in and make it memorable for you, and those after you.
