The gift of accepting people for who they are not only loosens the tie of expectation (which is crap, your expectations of another are not fair) but it removes the stress from the situation. The key here though, is to remember that you do not need to like everybody or be best friends with everyone\u2026but each of us deserves the gift of acceptance.<\/p>\n<p>What comes to my mind is something as simple as the fact that we each fold our socks differently (I don\u2019t even fold mine), but is one of us better or worse than another? No, we\u2019re just different. WE each drink our coffee differently, and some people don\u2019t even drink coffee\u2026how dare they!! No, it\u2019s cool, some people prefer tea but I will not judge them for that. So why judge someone for the political party they support? Chances are most people\u2019s political views have come from their family\u2026but to disregard someone because they don\u2019t support a political idea that you do is astonishingly stupid.<\/p>\n<p>I posted this on Facebook the other day, \u201cRandom thought: enjoying people for what they do bring to the table is better than talking crap because they don&#8217;t live up to some expectation you have of them\u201d, which is what brought about this blog post\u2026and the reaction was good, so good to know others feel the same way.<\/p>\n<p>Just as a reminder, I am not a tree hugging liberal, but if you are, I\u2019m ok with that. I am someone that believes that in order to live a fulfilled life, one giant aspect of that is the ability to have deeper relationships, enjoying people and learning from people of all backgrounds. Regardless of any belief, relationships with people are the single most important thing to any and all individuals during their journey here. Plus, it\u2019s just damn fun getting to know people that are different than you\u2026it goes back to pushing those limits and boundaries in life.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s a group of us that get together at a local coffee shop on Sundays (Annie and I are new to the get together but know everyone in it) that we call \u201cchurch\u201d\u2026these guys (and they are mostly guys) range from an Aussie, a German, a guy from Turkey (I think), a winemaker\/ winery owner, an Ag guy, an artist, one of the best bartenders we know, and us\u2026wacky ass group of people (us included) but I look forward to this day, awesome people with amazing stories!<\/p>\n<p>Differences should be celebrated and encouraged, not hidden and withheld.
