I am typically not the kind of person that would over analyze a word, but I\u2019ve been struggling with the term \u201csocial media\u201d, specifically the \u201cmedia\u201d portion of that term. I understand, by definition, that media could definitely include social sites but whether you are an individual or a business I like the term social networking far more.<\/p>\n
Media just has such a stigma attached to it now, and beyond that; we are being social and we are networking when we are on these social sites. Again, whether you\u2019re an individual or a business (and using these tools properly) you aren\u2019t media. You are networking socially to relate and converse with others and be part of the overall conversation.<\/p>\n
Right or wrong, I like the meaning behind social networking much more than social media. Any thoughts?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
