I have talked about this before and have recently seen examples of why it\u2019s so important to \u201cfilter the onslaught\u201d. One example, I was chatting with someone online and they were basically repeating, verbatim, a well known social networking persons ideas; to the point that it was that obvious to me.<\/p>\n
Don\u2019t get me wrong, I think it\u2019s important to read, research, and grow; but we live in a time where information surrounds us like air. We have to stay true to ourselves and our own unique opinions. Part of the problem is that it can become addictive to go check in and follow everything that\u2019s happening, but you have to break that. Below are some ways to help filter the onslaught.<\/p>\n
1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Limit yourself to a certain number of places you get your information, it\u2019s easy to go to a hundred websites a day but then you\u2019ve entered overload land.<\/p>\n
2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Limit yourself to a certain amount of time per day that you are reading, watching, or listening to the onslaught, this can realistically be done in one or two hours a day of well managed time.<\/p>\n
3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Instead of absorbing everybody else\u2019s information, create your own.
