I don\u2019t like the word media, or the word marketing; but they are the words most commonly used so they will be used here. For all the people in all of social media land, there has been a lot of talk back and forth regarding the importance of social media and how much time should be invested. So here\u2019s the lowdown, social media is vitally important but the main reason why may not be what you think. Social media has brought about a revolution in how people interact with each other, consumers, and potential consumers. It has reminded us how important it is to be ourselves and to engage in a community. We can no longer sit on the side lines and hope that our website and that listing in the phone book is enough to bring customers in the front door.<\/p>\n
The combination of social media going main stream at the same time the economy has been floundering has actually worked out to really benefit many of those that jumped on to social networking. There is just no disputing it anymore, if you have not gained from the use of it in one way shape or form, you have done something wrong. At the very least you\u2019ve made some great connections or good friends, but hopefully you\u2019ve also been able to bring attention to your business (whatever that may be) from engaging with the online community.<\/p>\n
There\u2019s just no doubt about it, the social aspect of social media is why it\u2019s here to stay. People want to know what\u2019s happening as it\u2019s happening, they want to feel connected in this huge, vast world\u2026this provides that. Social and mobile is where we are and where it going to stay, we\u2019re addicted. The tools (like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Foursquare, etc.) will continue to evolve but the principles are here to stay. Jump in, be you, and don\u2019t listen to self proclaimed gurus and experts; they have forgotten what this is all about.<\/p>\n
