I don\u2019t notice this on Facebook as much as I do on Twitter, but maybe it\u2019s more readily noticeable on Twitter because people post more often there than they typically do on Facebook. Before I get into my current pet peeve, I will say that 99% of my experience on Twitter has been great and I\u2019ve met a ton of amazingly brilliant and creative people.<\/p>\n
Now, to my pet peeve, there are a handful of people on Twitter that have really been pissing me the eff off due to one of two reasons. A few of this \u201chandful\u201d are just downright arrogant and cocky because they have a certain number of followers, one of them has 47,000 plus followers and the other has a little over 10,000 followers. These are two people that preach about engagement, that numbers don\u2019t matter, and claim to be social media gurus but I think their attitudes suck and you can almost feel it in their posts. I have heard others with the same complaint of these two folks.<\/p>\n
My other beef is with four or five guys on Twitter that have such massive followings, like 500,000 to over a million, they just can\u2019t respond to everyone yet they claim they will or do. In addition a couple of these guys don\u2019t make an attempt to thank those of us that constantly pump out their work through retweets, etc.<\/p>\n
Here is the solution, regarding the two in the second paragraph, since I don\u2019t want give names I just suggest to everyone to stop inflating other people\u2019s egos. If someone is being a d-bag stop encouraging them by continuing to retweet their crap, etc. Solution to the gentlemen in the third paragraph is to either stop following those \u201chuge number\u201d people, or attempt to let them know that they are not practicing what they preach.<\/p>\n
Again, I have heard from more people than I can remember about this group of people above, and it just sucks that we follow people that don\u2019t do what they suggest we do. And to all those freaks at the top, slow down a second (we know you have a really busy schedule \u00df sarcasm) and remember that this is SOCIAL<\/span><\/em><\/strong> networking. I would also want to remind all the big wigs that many of you are making money off the people you aren\u2019t always treating so well\u2026sooooo you may want to adjust!!
