The Chronic…Cellars

May 14, 2010 matt Leave a Comment

If you head West from downtown Paso Robles on Lake Nacimiento Road for a few miles, you’ll come across a very unsuspecting building with a sign on the side that says “Chronic Cellars”.  http://www.chroniccellars.com/.  Well, don’t let the quaint arbor covered in grapevines and the patio with quiet picnic tables fool you…step inside and you’re in the middle of a Day of the Dead celebration!  Wall murals of skeletons, huge Frida Khalo-style paintings, a pool table and some majestic booth tables make up the tasting room.  The wines are easy to drink; a Rhone style white, a few red blends, including a Tempranillo/Zinfandel, and a Petite Sirah make up their list, rounded out by a Late Harvest Petite Sirah.  This is a cool joint…very unique and definitely worth a visit!
