Booker Wines and Vineyard

October 29, 2010 matt 7 Comments

So, we’ve heard about Booker and have tried to get in to taste there in the past, but they’ve been closed.  Not closed for silly reasons, closed because they’re out of wine!  They make 1500 cases of 100% Estate wine a year, and due to the high demand for it, they sell out quickly each year!  We got lucky and made it in to the tasting room to try all 7 of their open wines.

They had an unfiltered “Pink” that was really good..almost chewy!  There was also a White Rhone blend fermented to dryness in concrete tanks that we both enjoyed, and then on to the reds.  A couple of blends that were good, then 2 vintages of their Fracture which is 100% Syrah.  Now, the grand finale:  Ripper!  A 100% Grenache that we both fell in love with for it’s delicious funk and wonderful fruit!

Their tasting room is just off 46 West on Anderson Road, tucked into rolling hills of vineyards with cool views in every direction.  They were processing grapes while we were there and we got to talk with the lovely Addie, who is the aspiring Assistant Winemaker, and very capable Tasting Room Manager.  She had been running between the sorting table and the tasting room all day and was doing a great job!  Give them a call and get in to try their wines and chat with the friendly people!  You’ll be glad you did, as the overall experience is a great one!  Great wines, great people, great site!

Joanie, YES!!! It’s good stuff! What did you have with steak? The Syrah and the Grenache were both awesome.
