Jack Ranch Pinot Noir

Our Three Favorite Wines from March

April 1, 2013 matt 6 Comments

Another month bites the dust…again. So here we are with our top three wines from the previous month. It’s always a tough decision but we’re willing to put in the hard work to narrow it down to three wines. This month mine (Matt) were all reds and two were Cabernet Franc. That aside all three of my picks were 2008’s…interesting. So let’s get busy.

Matt’s top three wines from March, in no particular order:

– 2008 Donati Cabernet Franc

– 2008 Pear Valley Cabernet franc

– 2008 Anglim Pinot Noir (Jack Ranch)

Annie’s top three wines from March, in no particular order:

– 2011 J. Lohr Riverstone Chardonnay – I think my all time favorite wine variety is Chardonnay and this one is just tasty. It’s got the right balance of oak, fruit and acidity. I like it. A lot.

– 2011 L’ Aventure Rose – I had a glass of this at Villa Creek Restaurant a couple of weeks ago while Hoot and I were on “date night”. These are cherished times these days, not that we don’t love spending time with Sammy, but hanging out on the patio at VC with a nice glass of rose while the sun sets was pretty spectacular!

– 2008 Anglim Jack Ranch Pinot Noir – Not a lot of words needed here…it’s just a damn good Pinot Noir!!!

Happy April Fool’s Day and Opening Day (baseball season) to everyone out there. What were your favorite wines from March?!?!

Sounds like you had some good ones! Had a Bandol Rose the other day that was definitely one of the tops for March here.

David…very nice. We got lucky enough to attend a Rose lunch at hospice du Rhone here in Paso Robles. All the Roses were out of Tavel, one of the most amazing wine experiences I’ve had.

You have some mighty fine wines there! Cheers to that! I wanted to up date you on the Trade Tasting on PR that was in LA, unfortunately I wasn’t able to attend as my husband worked late and was tired so we didn’t go. But this coming up Trade show on April 22, at The Peninsula/Beverly Hills I will be working as an Event Hostess, along with calling everyone to attend the tasting…fun… check it out on Ian Blackburn facebook..I will keep you posted.
