Our Three Favorite Wines from May

June 5, 2013 matt Leave a Comment

Another month in the bag and many, many more wine bottles in the bag as well. I must say that it is pretty tough to narrow it down to only three wines when you consider how many wines we try when we’re at tasting rooms, restaurants, or the wine we open at home in any given month. I enjoy the challenge though and obviously there is no science to this, heck, I may forget a great wine or think a crappy wine is great due to level of drunkenness. But I digress.

Annie’s three favorite wines from May in no particular order were:

2012 Viognier from Vines on the Marycrest

2011 Grenache from Austin Hope (Hope Family Wines)

2011 La Petite Solene from Clos Solene (70% Syrah 30% Grenache)

Matt’s three favorite wines from May in no particular order were:

2011 Chardonnay from McIntyre Vineyards (I think his Chards are amazing and I am biased because they are SIP Certified and I love that!)

2008 Cabernet Pfeffer from Kenneth Volk (Had to go with this out of sheer uniqueness, had never heard of this. Thanks for bringing it to our attention Losh from 15C Wine Bar in Templeton.)

2010 Albarino from Derby Wine Estates (Great summer wine and I really enjoy their wines)

So there you have it. What was your favorite wine (or drink) from May? Or do you even care?
