Broadside Chardonnay

Our Three Favorite Wines from August

September 2, 2013 matt 2 Comments

I know I say this every month when I write about our wine picks from the previous month but good grief time is flying by! A lot more wine has been consumed, Sammy is getting close to his one year birthday, and I have a few more gray hairs.

Annie’s favorite wines from August:

2009 Brooks Riesling – Willamette Valley

2012 Broadside Chardonnay

2011 Herman Story Tomboy – 55% Viognier, 45% Roussanne

Matt’s favorites wines from August:

2011 Herman Story “On The Road” Grenache (Although we had heard of Herman Story we hadn’t tasted their wines until a few months back, fantastic line-up)

2010 Wrath Pinot Noir Swan/ 828 (Always a fan of Wrath wines when I have them)

2011 Valckenberg Gewurztraminer (Had this at a local restaurant and enjoyed it quite a bit, never heard of this brand before)

There you have it, our picks from August. So now you need to spill the beans on the interesting adult beverages you’ve had recently. We’re always game to try new things so give us some suggestions!

Oh, and Happy Labor Day. This literally has no significance to me and that’s probably my ignorance but at least Annie gets the day off. Cheers!

Herman Story is one of our favorites! Wine is consistently good throughout their lineup…”Nuts and Bolts” is a blend of syrah from different vineyards that is stellar! Don’t know if you had the chance to taste any “Desparada”…which is Valia’s line of wines? She and Russell make a great combo and great wines too!

Steve, you got that right!! 🙂 I don’t remember tasting any of the Desparada line but have heard good things. Hope to get a chance to taste some time. So much awesome wine locally and so little time. It’s a full time job.
