The 16th Annual Winemakers’ Cookoff is August 9 at the Paso Robles Event Center. That gives you plenty of time to get hungry for some amazing food off the grill created by some wacky Paso winemakers. It’s put together by the Rotary Club of Paso Robles and there will be about 24 wineries not only pouring their wines but preparing some out-of-this-world dishes.
That’s when the hilarity ensues. Each winery spends most of the event seducing you for your tickets which count as votes toward their foodie creation. Every single one of them wants that People’s Choice Award, therefore they will entice you by ALMOST any means necessary. It’s actually quite entertaining and it’s all for a great cause. There is also a Judges’ Award they are trying to win…minus the bribery…I think.
All proceeds from this event benefit local high school scholarships. Since this event began all those years ago, over $400,000 in scholarships have been awarded to local high school kids. That’s pretty impressive if you ask me.
If you’d like to be a sponsor you can check on that here or if you’re interested in getting tickets to the event you can do that here. In regards to sponsorship, my painting company was a barrel sponsor in years past which is pretty cool and the cost for that includes one entry ticket to the event. You can find more info on barrel sponsorship here.
Have you been to this event before? Are you going this year?
Thank you very much for posting PR on the 16th Winemakers’ Cookoff in Paso Robles.
Sharon Ross and myself are co-chairs of the event. We have a very talented and productive committee. We are all members of the Paso Robles Rotary Club. This is the club’s major fund raiser and the monies are awarded to Paso Robles High School seniors as scholarships
on a need and merit basis.
Best regards, Bob
Bob, you’re welcome and thank you for the comment and for all the work you and your crew do locally. Cheers! 🙂
Thanks so much for the post Matt. We’re looking forward to seeing you there.
You’re welcome, Scott. Keep up the good work through Rotary and this event. I was surprised about how much money had been raised over the years!
