SLO County Wine Industry Awards

July 13, 2015 matt 2 Comments

Congrats to Marc Goldberg of Windward Vineyards for receiving the ‘Winemaker of the Year’ award for 2015. Jerry Reaugh of Sereno Vista Vineyards won ‘Winegrape Grower of the Year’ so congratulations to him as well. So who won ‘Wine INdustry Person of the Year’? Well, a well deserving person, Vicki Carroll of Hospice du Rhone.

This award stood out to me because I’m glad a woman won it but even happier that is was Vicki. I’ve known Vicki for many years due to our attendance at the Hospice du Rhone event in Paso Robles and she is without question one of the sweetest people I’ve met in the wine industry. Although we have not spent a ton of time around each other she is always gracious, humble, and kind.
She has done great work for wine, the wine industry, Rhone wines, Paso Robles, SLO County, and more. She deserves this and I’m very happy that she is receiving this recognition.
Cheers to the winners and thank you for doing so much positive work in the industry.

Amen Hoot! I couldn’t agree more! Vicki has done so much for the wine industry here on the Central Coast. I met her in 1995 when she was the Director of SLO Wine, she’s been at it from the beginning in so many aspects to bring awareness of our region as well as quality events to the Central Coast. I love your description of her and it holds true, “always gracious, humble, and kind”, well said. A toast to Vicki! We will celebrate on the 25th…!
