Oso Libre – Sustainable and Distinctive Winegrowing

June 8, 2010 matt 8 Comments

Oso Libre is SUPER COOL!!!  We’d been hearing good things about this place, which is relatively new on the Vineyard Drive wine trail – http://osolibre.com/.  They use sustainable practices in their wine growing and making processes…they even have sheep and cattle roaming through the vineyards!

You can see the wind generator that gathers energy for the site spinning not too far outside the tasting room.  Oh yeah, and speaking of the tasting room, talk about fun!  This place draws you in and makes you want to stay and hang out.  Very modern, funky, yet tasteful and stylish, the red and white theme with stainless steel trimmings is super cool.  About the wines…mostly reds, which we enjoyed pretty much all of and one white, which we weren’t crazy about, but overall the wines were great.  The guys in the tasting room were fun, knowledgeable and friendly…and we even got to chat with owner Chris Behr for a few minutes.  It’s pretty awesome when the owner/winemaker wanders in and wants to chat with the customers!  They’ve got a lot of good stuff going on at Oso Libre…and we’ll definitely be back!

P.S.  Oso Libre will be selling their grass-fed Angus beef in the very near future, right out of the tasting room!

Hey guys! Definatley a beautiful site for a winery/tasting room, and well worth the drive. Mike and I waited monthes for it to open and finally got our chance to visit on Zin Fest weekend. Loved the wine and the knowledgeable ppl behind the bar as well. We also met two awesome new friends there who we’ll be hangin’ out with this summer! Thanks again for all the ‘HARD’ work you’re doing for your adoring public! Mo :),
