TastingRoom.com: I Wish I Would Have Thought of That

July 18, 2012 matt Leave a Comment

TastingRoom.com recently sent us a package of their 50ml tasting bottles called “Everyday Roses”. I think these “tasting kits” are a perfect thing for both the consumer and the wineries. The consumer benefits by being able to taste different wines and then picking the ones they want to purchase a bottle of, rather than throwing a dart and buying a bottle in hopes that they like it. I also believe this product benefits the wineries because it allows them to get more of their wines in front of one person…quite the nifty idea TastingRoom had that I wish I had come up with, and I’m seriously blown away by just how many wines and packages they have to offer.

TastingRoom.com Has Tons of Different Tasting Kits

In this specific Rose kit there was:

2011 Hanna Rose (Sonoma County)

2011 Ampelos Cellars Rose (“Rose of Syrah”/ Santa Ynez Valley)

2011 Blackbird Rose (“Arriviste”/ Napa Valley)

2011 Trattore Grenache Rose (Dry Creek Valley)

2011 Carol Shelton Rose (Rendezvous Rose”/ North Coast)

2011 Korbin Kameron Rose (Sonoma Valley)

In this lineup we enjoyed the Hanna and the Carol Shelton the most. We did not necessarily dislike any of them but these were the two we gravitated toward. Several reasons why this was cool: 1) with summer being here we really enjoy Rose 2) this is a great way to taste wines side by side without having to buy full bottles 3) you can do all this from the comfort of your home and 4) every tasting package from TastingRoom.com comes with all the information about each wine…can’t beat that.

Don’t let those 50ml bottles fool you, that is plenty for you and another person to each have a decent size taste in order to see if you like it…or if you don’t share alcohol well, feel free to have it all to yourself. These can make great gifts as well, for most any occasion. Annie just ordered a kit titled “Tour of Mendocino” because we are thinking about doing a pre-baby trip to the Mendocino area. Yet another reason these kits are a fun and inexpensive way to taste many different wines.

Be sure to check out their website to see ALL the different wines and packages they have to offer and follow them on Facebook and Twitter, they do a good job on both and are consistently active. So what are you waiting for…it’s time to hit the Tasting Room, TastingRoom.com that is!!
