Random Food Happenings on the Central Coast

September 6, 2012 matt 11 Comments

I need to confess something…when I look through the photos on my phone I think you would come to two conclusions: 1) Matt is an alcoholic and 2) Why doesn’t Matt weigh 500 pounds? Why you ask? I would venture to say that 80% of the photos on my phone (I currently have over 2,400 photos) are of food and adult beverages. My response: don’t hate!

In order to make this confession complete, I thought I would share with you the foodie part of my life. We are lucky to live here on the Central Coast, there is such a wide variety of food and ideas about food for a relatively small population. Per capita I’m thinking this is one of the most creative and diverse places I’ve lived in regards to food and the options available.

We have great hole in the walls spots like Los Robles Café in Paso Robles, the Beef Palace in Templeton, and Joe’s Place in Paso and in Templeton. You also have the fine dining spots like Artisan, Il Cortile, and Bistro Laurent in Paso Robles to the farm fresh places like Thomas Hill Organics and Artisan in Paso and Luna Red down in San Luis Obispo. These are just the tip of the iceberg, an endless food journey awaits!

Check out the pics that follow…some of the eats we’ve enjoyed lately. You might notice that there are a lot of heirloom tomatoes this time around; they’re in season and we both LOVE them! Go get yourself some good food!!!

Are those ribs really better than mine? Before you answer let me go shave my legs.

I think the only way to answer that question, Gary, is to have a rib cookoff!!! Woohoooo, let’s do this!

Uh oh…I think we have a little competition brewing here. Let’s call it the Backyard Brawl! Or the Raunchy Rib Rack-off!
