Moonstone Cellars

July 14, 2010 matt 5 Comments

Situated in the “West Village” of Cambria, this is a fun little joint!  Not only are you in one of the coolest little towns on the Central Coast, but you’re sipping wine!  No, wait, you’re sipping good wine!  The tasting room is right in amongst all the shops and restaurants and you can stand at the counter and watch the tourists meander by while chatting with Todd, the winemaker or Al, his right hand man.  Moonstone has something else cool going on too, they’re hip to social media!  In other words, they’ll hand you their iPad so you can “fan” them on Facebook and then you’ll get a free tasting!

They’ve got a great list to try; several whites including a stainless steel Chardonnay, a lightly oaked Chardonnay, Viognier and even a Gewurztraminer!  You’ll get the gamut in reds, too from Merlot, to Syrah, to Cabernet Sauvignon, to a Super Tuscan blend.  We’ll definitely be back to Moonstone…maybe we’ll see you there!

Very nice place. I would definitely get a room and go home in the morning since the weather is so cool.

Moonstone is a great place to visit, they have very nice wines. I also like that they post “dog of the day” on their facebook page!

      Sandra,
Bummer about the NY shipping thing! Guess you’ll just have to come out here!!!

      Heather,
Super fun place – we’ll take you next time you’re out!

      Bev,
We didn’t get the room after all, but will plan ahead for the next time that Paso is 100 (like today)!

      Pat,
We agree, Moonstone has a lot going for them! We loved it! As the for the dog of the day…super fun idea! Cheers!
