World of Pinot Noir Closing Thoughts

March 23, 2011 matt 5 Comments

We showed up, we drank Pinot Noir, and we left!  Isn’t that what you’re supposed to do at an Event like this?  An event where you have a huge outdoor tent filled with some of the best Pinot Noir producers from our area and beyond, brunch snacks, and a bunch of pinot-philes like us.  They let us loose and we had a great time! We attempted to taste Pinot Noirs that we had never experienced before, and we’ve talked about a few on here already.

While we don’t get a lot of Pinot here in the Paso Robles area, there is a ton of it just down the road in the San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria areas.  It does well in the cooler climates with ocean breezes. Pinot Noir is known as a fickle grape; difficult to grow and even more difficult to predict what it might do.  There is a large range of aromas and flavors that can be present in a Pinot…from big, fruity and jammy, to delicate, earthy and complex, we got to try them all at the WOPN event!

We interviewed Sophia Stephens, the co-coordinator for the event and she told us all about the event weekend and why you should show up next year!

Hey, if you like this kind of thing, share it with your friends and fellow winos!  We love new viewers and perspectives!
