On the Deck With Cartlidge & Browne-2

March 26, 2010 matt 11 Comments

Our good friends at Cartlidge & Browne provided us with a 2008 Chardonnay to try.  http://cartlidgeandbrowne.com/.  We thought trying it out on the deck was a good idea…with the cat.  Anyway, a really nice Chardonnay from Napa County!  Lots of spice and butterscotch on the nose and a light, tropical fruit palate.  We agreed that it was refreshing and delicious and a perfect way to end a long work week!  Cheers to Elijah and Marc at C&B!  /

Keep up the good work I look forward to your next video. Hope to meet you in Paso Robles someday. Cheers!

    Hi Annie,

As promised I would get back to you when my shipment arrived and it did today at noon. I opened it and you are absolutely right this Chardonnay is fabulous smooth not oaky, one of the best I’ve tried. Marc at Cartlidge & Browne was fantastic he helped me with my order which I ordered 2 of each of Char, Zin, and Pinot Noir. I even sent his email to WineStyles in Seal Beach to see if he can order for me and his inventory he said he would check it out for me, cross our fingers we can get it at WineStyles, oh by the way, they were voted #1 on FoxLA’s best wine shop.

I even became members of GlenLyon because of your blog and received six bottles of his wine (more expensive) and I think I like Cartlidge & Browne better.

Anyways, I love your blog, and will diffenitely visit the ones you have recommend the next time my husband and I come up to Paso Robles, we love to stay at the Apple Farm in SLO. Any recommendations when we come to Paso Robles? We are members of Tobin James, and thought about staying at his place too.

    Love ya,
    Bev

Hey Bev! Thanks for all the good info…so glad to hear that you love the C&B wine! We dig it, too! As for GlenLyon, we’ll have to look into that one and try some of their wines…but let us know what you think, you’re our feet on the street, girl!

And Bev, as for places to stay in Paso, check out the Hotel LaBellasera – really cool place. There’s also a ton of small B&Bs, some at wineries. Then there’s always the Paso Inn, which is right downtown and a cool place to stay and get some of the Paso Robles history. Definitely let us know when you’re in the area!!!

Thanks for the information, we will check it out. My
co-worker likes to stay at Paso Inn we checked it out the last time we were up there when we were staying at the Apple Farm in SLO. Have you ever been to Baileyana Winery in SLO? I want to check them out I had their wine at Napa Rose in Disneyland Grand Hotel and the Sommelier recommended GRAND FIREPEAK CUVEE Chardonnay it was very good. I even found it at a Liquor store in Seal Beach and bought a couple bottles. Do you live close to downtown, we will let you know when we come to town it won’t be for awhile.

We’ve been to Baileyana in SLO, but it’s been a really long time! Now we’ll have to go back and give it a try. We live conveniently close to downtown in case we ever have to run down and do something fun. 🙂

I am currently unemployed (3 months) and it’s driving me crazy because I wish I could come up there, but my husband can’t get the time off they froze everyone’s vacation, not fair. So what do you do besides the fun stuff of wine tasting and your blog?

Bummer…hard times these days! Sorry to hear about that. What do we do for fun? Hmmm, well wine tasting is one of our hobbies, that’s why we turned it into a blog – we enjoy it! We love spending time with family and great friends, and exploring the area here. There’s a lot of beauty here!

We are going to our favorite wine shop called WineStyles in Seal Beach tonight to help them celebrate being Voted “Best Wine Shop in Orange County” FoxLA’s 2010 OC Hotlist. Our other favoite wine shop is Vinatero Wine Shop in Uptown Whittier they were voted #1 three years in a role, it’s a great place to hang out for the young crowd we’ve met lots of nice people and have eaten at some great restaurants there too. The town is suppose to be in the Los Angeles Magazine but I guess you can’t get that up there.

What type of wine are you going to be drinking for Easter?

Anyways, have a wonderful week-end and Happy Easter.

I’m thinking sparkling wine for Easter sounds appropriate…but that always sounds good! You have a great weekend, too!!! Cheers!
