There's no Pears in This Valley, But There is Some Wine!

April 7, 2011 matt 4 Comments

At Pear Valley Vineyards and Winery, they strive to create small lots of unique, tasty wine. Their philosophy on wine starts in their rolling vineyards on the property located right outside of Paso Robles on Union Road. This family run winery believes in tending to the vines to produce great fruit that becomes delicious wine.

When you head out to Pear Valley, you’ll find yourself winding up the dirt road through their vineyards and up to the beautiful tasting room. The facility is awesome…a huge stone building with all the trimmings will make you feel right at home tasting and taking in the view.

The wines range from white to red, sweet to dry, light to huge! You’ll taste through different vintages of their Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and their flagship blend; Distraction. This is a blend of Cab Sauv, Cab Franc and Petit Verdot. Don’t forget the oaked and unoaked Chardonnays, the Rose, and the Sauvignon Blanc; all great Summer wines…which, believe it or not, is right around the corner! If you’ve got a bit of a sweet tooth, be sure to ask for the Orange Muscat!

To get a better feel for the place, picture this: a large patio overlooking the vineyards where you can hang out and enjoy a picnic, or how about the veranda up the hill just a bit where you’ll get a bird’s eye view of the surrounding Paso Robles vineyards. Any way you cut it, this place is has it all if you happen to like cool things.

What do you like when you go out wine tasting? Is it the wine, the view, the people, the tasting room? Or all of the above? Talk to us…let us know…we’ll find all that and more and tell you about it! After all, we’re drinking wine for the people!

Love that you are actually getting to do some blogs from INSIDE the tasting rooms! What a beautiful place, and one I will definitely be visiting soon! Thank you, as always, for the abundance of information you provide to all of us! It’s a “tough” job, but somebody’s gotta do it!!

    Carry on!

We love to show the inside of the tasting rooms…but sometimes it’s not as easy as other times. Either that, or Annie gets self-conscious in front of people sometimes! Anyway, yes, it’s a rough job, touring around Paso Robles, tasting awesome wine and meeting really cool people, but hey! We’re taking one or two for the team! Thanks for the great support, Mo!!!!
