At Home with Cartlidge & Browne #3

April 2, 2010 matt 2 Comments

So, in our ongoing series featuring our super cool friends at Cartlidge & Browne, we opened their 2008 Pinot Noir.  http://www.cartlidgeandbrowne.com/.  Just a really good Pinot Noir, delicate yet very tasty.  Lots of aromas and flavors going on up in there.  Lots of cherry aroma, with some spice and nice fruit and then flavors of cocoa and coffee.  It was a little bit tight when first opened, but we let it breathe and swirled a lot and shazaam!  Very nice Pinot Noir!  We’ve heard that Pinot Noir is one of the more finicky grapes to grow and we’ve found that the wine can range from huge and jammy to light and earthy and everywhere in between.  Those that seek the perfect Pinot Noir, will tell you that it’s a never ending quest that can sometimes end in disappointment.  Well, if you like a medium bodied Pinot that has some good stuff goin on, then this is your man!  Or woman!  Whatever!!!
