Meet our Uncle Murray at Earth Day Food and Wine Festival

May 2, 2011 matt 2 Comments

We had an awesome opportunity to interview Jim and Kathleen Tigan of Tactical Avian Predators at the Earth Day Food & Wine Festival. As we were walking through the crowd we noticed this majestic hawk (found out it was a Harris Hawk named Uncle Murray) on Kathleen’s arm so we had to go check it out.

As we were chatting with them we asked if they’d be willing to do an interview, and they graciously agreed. You’ve got to check this out, it’s such a cool concept. They do environmentally safe pest control using trained hawks and falcons for vineyards.

And as you can see, Kathleen threw a glove on Hoot and he got to hold Uncle Murray…WOW, Hoot got a hoot out of that!!

We really appreciate Jim and Kathleen doing the interview and we are really in awe of what they do…these are amazing creatures!! Many thanks you guys, keep up the great work of protecting vineyards and educating the public, cheers!!

That is so awesome, bet you did get a Hoot out of it Matt (Hoot-Hoot). Would like to see them in action, that would be great. I’ll have to google what she was talking about staking the hawks when they hunt together. cool.

Hey Bev! Yeah, incredible birds…it’s amazing how they interacted with Jim and Kathleen, too! You could see the mutual respect between them. We look forward to meeting up with them again sometime soon.
