Let’s Catch Up

 

There’??s been a lot going on in our lives as I’??m sure there has been in yours. Annie and I both have full time work, there’??s Sammy, moved right before he was born but did not close on the house until recently, unpacked, working on painting the inside of our house as well as other projects, emptied a storage unit we had for 5 plus years, and on and on. We aren’??t complaining about anything, I am actually a big fan of busy – usually.

There are two things I wanted to talk about specifically in this post. The first is Sammy turning 8 months old yesterday – where in the ever loving shizzle does the time go? Eight months? Really?

I still have all of those thoughts and emotions right at the forefront of my mind when I think back to the pregnancy, the birth, and coming home with that little dude, and now, he’??s 8 months old. Time continues to be the prickly thorn bush in my life. It keeps ticking away no matter what I do and I feel I’??m running out of it very quickly but there’??s still so much more I want to do. It feels like yesterday when I carried 3 day old Sammy up the stairs in our new house..but it wasn’??t yesterday.

The fortunate thing for me is how much time I have been able to spend with him as a work at home dad…as of right now I am with him four days per week and that may go to five days at some point. There aren’??t a lot of dads that get to do that or that even want to do that but I do. There are definitely some stressful freaking?? days when I’??m trying to get work done because, you know, I base my value on how productive I am. As I’??ve discussed before on here I am still learning that raising a child is productive but my mind doesn’??t often agree with that.

Before you know it I will be writing some emotional post on here about how my little guy is turning a year old…it is absolutely insane! If anyone out there has some free time lying around that they don’??t plan on using please send it our way!!

The other thing I wanted to mention, although it seems a bit late, is the ad that you are seeing on the right of this screen on our blog. It is an affiliate ad to Abe’??s Market. We get some kind of commission from anything purchased so long as you click on that ad on our blog. I have not wanted to get involved with ads and all that on either of our blogs but I realized that doing these two blogs takes a lot of our time and if there are ways we can make a little bit of money from them it would be worth trying.

I just wanted to throw that out there, our goal is to only have people/ businesses that we like and believe in represented on either of our sites. We realize at the end of the day that our name is on here so we don’??t want to represent any company that we feel doesn’??t hold up their end of the bargain. So check out Abe’??s Market, it’??s a pretty cool website with tons of useful products!

Thanks again for all the support on this wacky journey of ours…now I’??d like to know what you’??ve been up to since I filled you in on some loose ends on our side?!?!?
