Iâ??m not kidding, Liberty is my middle name and itâ??s also Sammyâ??s middle name. The first Liberty in my family was in 1776 and his name was Liberty Browne. If my memory serves correctly it was his first name and as time went by it shifted to middle names in the family. The interesting thing is that I was born in 1976 so I was the bicentennial â??Liberty Browneâ?.
When Annie and I got pregnant we had decided that whether it was a boy or girl we would give the baby the middle name of Liberty. In my family it had been all boys and we were willing to break that part of the tradition because we like the name enough. When Sammy was born on October 12, 2012 the only name he had for a couple of days was Liberty Browneâ?¦like the first one in 1776.
We were struggling to pick the right name out of the handful that we liked. On day two or three of his life we finally made the decision to name him Samuel. Samuel Liberty Browneâ?¦it seemed a like a very strong but personable name and I think that fits his personality thus far.
Growing up Iâ??ve had people make fun of me for my middle name and people that thought it was the coolest thing ever. Hereâ??s what the word, Liberty, means to meâ?¦
I am very proud of the name and the word. Liberty is for all people, not just Americans. I Blackjack Online think the word is very strong yet very caring all at the same time. I donâ??t know all my family history and all the stories but Iâ??m happy to be in the line in which this name came from. I want the name to be something that Sammy is happy with too. I want it to be something that he lives up to and then raises the bar on.
As utterly stupid as it may sound, having the middle name Liberty has been a motivator in my life. There have been times where I donâ??t feel all that great, depressed even, and thinking of that name pushes me to get over my crap and carry on. I want to live up to that word. I want to do good things. Itâ??s been nice having that word as my middle name and on the 4th of July I think about it a touch more than normal. On this 4th of July though, I think about Sammy now carrying that name on and what he will think about it.
To Sammy, Happy first 4th of July, buddy. Live your life with conviction, be strong, be caring, be accountable, dream, donâ??t settle, anything is possible, be the changeâ?¦with or without that middle name of Liberty, youâ??re a special little dude and I know big things are in your future. How do I know thisâ?¦you changed my world when you were one second oldâ?¦think what you can do with the rest of your time.
Happy 4th of July!
