I am in no way (at all) a guru or an expert in anything except my life and me. I have a lot of knowledge about some things due to schooling, reading, listening, and experiencing life though. I definitely think there are people that are very well versed when it comes to social media for example, but are they experts? Or gurus?
More specifically, in my opinion, you have leaders and followers. The leaders are people that come up with ideas and thoughts that the followers then take in as factual, in turn giving the leaders more cattle to herd around, etc. I’m not saying there is anything bad about this process, I just think the terms expert and guru are thrown around entirely too much. It indeed goes back to leaders and followers. Which one are you?
I, unfortunately, think we live in a society of herders and herds. Whether you’re talking about politics, social media, whatever…you have this small group of herders prodding the rest from one thing to the next. To some degree we need that, my hope is that people would take more time to educate themselves about things as well as form their own ideas and opinions. After all, there is NO manual to life, social media, or anything else; we’re all on the same journey with different ideas. Voice yours, because you’re probably not wrong!!
