If you’re wallowing in self pity over the door that just closed on you, you’ll never be aware of all the new doors opening for you. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!
I wrote this comment on Facebook, and then an abbreviated (life in 140) form of it on Twitter…and I got a lot of feedback.
The fact is that so many people get hung up on doors that have closed, rather than opening their eyes and seeing the doors that are opening. Life is this constant bobbing and weaving, a maze of doors that are opening and closing all the time. So to get stuck on one door seems not only ridiculous, but will add to the momentary trauma.
We can get overly stuck in one view, one thought, which doesn’t allow for growth or expansion. The status quo eats us alive and doesn’t allow for us to LIVE this LIFE, this is a journey, an adventure; so behave accordingly. It is our inherent duty to push boundaries, explore ourselves and the world…this can’t happened if you’re a “one track mind” type of person.
Doors close for a reason, now I am not saying to give up, which would make the door close; but I am saying that there are times when one door closes in order to put you in a better position…but YOU have to be able to roll with it, learn to let go and move to the next.
Every door is not meant to open, and not every door is meant for you…so it goes; however, there are ALWAYS doors opening around you, it is up to YOU to go through them!
