Veterans Day

November 11, 2010 matt 1 Comment

It’s a day that I don’t think many people truly grasp the weight of. We can acknowledge our uniformed men and women, past and present, which is what we should do. When your grandfather dies of old age, or your mom dies of breast cancer, or a daughter is killed in a car accident…we weep, we suffer pain of on indescribable level. When someone signs up to wear an American military uniform it is by choice (well, has been predominately), not by delegation or by family medical history. That uniform means freedom in every sense of the word, it means bravery and courage that most can’t fathom…but more importantly it means that the human being inside that uniform is willing to die for you, for me, for the future of this country and the ideas this country was born of. These men and women want to come home, but know they may not. The VERY least we can do is say thank you once a year, but we should be saying it every single day. Happy Veterans Day and thanks you to all who have and are serving!
