Four Vines Winery…Ehemmm, Now Cypher Winery

February 14, 2011 matt 8 Comments

Cypher Winery, formerly known as Four Vines Winery….some changes made but not as much as you may think. We stopped in recently after hearing about the change to see what was going on, and as of our visit, they were still in the midst of the change.
The name Four Vines was sold along with a few of the wines, but Christian (the winemaker) is keeping the tasting and the remaining wines, just changing the name to Cypher. He will also soon be adding some new wines to the list under the Cypher name. As far as we know he will also remain the winemaker of Four Vines wine for roughly three years, they just won’t be in the tasting room.
So, all in all, other then visual changes, you won’t notice much. We tasted through some great wines while there and evidently won the wine lottery because we came in a day after they had a member party in which they tasted many library wines; so we got to taste through the wines that had some left over juice in them: 2005 and 2006 Peasant GSM, 2004 and 2005 Monarchy (Malbec blend), the 2005 and 2006 Heretic…along with the regular menu. Cheers peeps, and don’t forget to stop by Cypher and tell ’em Hoot n Annie sent you.

They’re regular customers for Petite grapes from our Red Cedar Vineyard. Thanks for the update.
