Our anniversary was back on August 1st. It was our 17th! An accomplishment for sure but I’m not big into celebrating dates. If you want to celebrate something, celebrate a random day in your life and cheers to being alive. Anyways, I will avoid the philosophical ramblings.
On our anniversary we decided to go check out Primal House in the Tin City area. This place hasn’t been open long but I have seen a lot of positive feedback. They have a market, a butcher, a brewery, and a restaurant. It kind of sounds like an adult Disneyland if you ask me. We did not partake in their food but we each had two beers and Sam had their house made root beer. I enjoyed the Kolsch that I had, I would order that one again. Annie had a cream beer that she liked.
They did well with the space. The market and butcher are separated from the restaurant and brewery. The atmosphere was enjoyable but it was not crowded when we were there so I don’t know how crazy it gets when things fill up and they have live music.
We then decided to go to The Hatch for dinner. I’ve never had a bad meal there. On this visit we had their Chips & Dip (Pimento cheese, salt & vinegar chips, b&b pickles), Shrimp & Grits (Tomato broth, white cheddar grits, braised greens, & added fennel sausage), and last but not least, the Spring Pasta (ETTO papperdelle pasta, green peas, ricotta, brocollini, & added rotisserie chicken). I had to get an Old Fashioned as well. They make a damn good one. The food was great, as always. The vibe was fun, as always. Thank you to Rustle for taking care of us!
Anyways, that’s that. That was anniversary number 17. We’ll see if we make it to 18. That’s a joke, folks. Settle down. But seriously, back to my opening paragraph. Celebrate random days. Don’t let the calendar dictate what to celebrate.
