Tasting at Gelfand Vineyards

March 25, 2010 matt 2 Comments

This place is only open three times a year…and we made it there!!!  It was Zinfandel Festival weekend, so one of the weekends that the Gelfand family opens their doors to visitors and wine club members.  http://gelfandvineyards.com/ Off the beaten path, it’s worth the drive and the wait!  Great reds…they grow Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and Petite Syrah.  The wines that they produce are rich, smooth, deep and delicious!  There wasn’t one of the single varietal wines or blends that we didn’t enjoy.  I know we talk a lot about all the great places out there, but this was truly one of the best tasting experiences we’ve had.  They had all the right pieces that were perfectly put into place; great place, wonderful people, and delicious wines!  Thank you to the Gelfand family and to Kate for making it a great afternoon!  Cheers!!!
