You may have heard us talk about the Paso Robles restaurant Villa Creek in the past, it’s one of our favorites, sometimes like one of our second homes! But we haven’t said much about the other side of their business – WINE! The Villa Creek label produces some great wines. The family-run, boutique winery specializes in Rhone and Spanish varietals and they love to blend! This wine is a great and unique blend consisting of 60% Tempranillo, 30% Grenache, and 10% Mourvedre. They’re located on the West side off 46 (not North River Road like Annie said), and they’re open on weekends and by appointment.
The Mas de Maha blend is more than unique; it’s warm, cozy, and delicious! Lots of holiday spice, some fruit on the finish, and that awesome Mourvedre “grunge” that makes things interesting. Think Christmas Eve with some Prime Rib, your favorite family and friends around, a warm fire slowly burning down, and of course, presents! That’s what this wine screams…well, whispers really loudly in your ear, inspiring your imagination to conjure up a scene similar to that.
