Hearthstone…on the Rodeo Drive of Wine Country

December 13, 2010 matt 4 Comments

Perched on a hill, nestled above the vineyards, and surrounded by the oak trees sits Hearthstone Vineyards and Winery’s Tasting Room.  Just up Vineyard Drive, this stretch of Paso Robles Wineries is becoming just as well known as Hollywood’s Rodeo Drive (thanks to Paula, tasting room manager for coining the perfect term!).  Known for their wonderful fruit and delicious wines, it’s where wine tasters as well as wine makers want to be!

Hearthstone is a neat little spot, great tasting room overlooking the rolling hills of vineyards, and really nice wines.  Specializing mostly in Rhones, with some nice Bordeaux varieties mixed in, they’re all Estate grown and produce only about 1500 cases currently.  It’s perfect for a picnic on a relaxing afternoon!

When we came across Hearthstone, we came across another unique and interesting story.  The owner has roots in the horticulture industry, and is doing some great work out there in his field (pun sort of intended!)

We’ve tracked all over Napa and Sonoma, but haven’t yet made it to Paso Robles. After reading your posts, that time is coming very soon. Thanks for the tips, updates, and thoughts. Keep them coming.

Wow your right Hoot, the scenery is beautiful even better in the spring when the hills are all green.

Bev – it’s pretty beautiful out on Vineyard, had to beat rolling hills, vineyards and oak trees!
