Sooooo…a funny thing happened on the way to World of Pinot Noir…we picked up a couple of local radio DJs!
No joke, we really did. Adam and Jeremy, the infamous “Cork Dorks” on 92.5 The Krush were headed to WOPN and knew we were too so they asked for a lift. We couldn’t think of two crazier kids to hang with than them, so we scooped ‘em up on our way down and had a great time!
What is World of Pinot Noir, Anyway?
Now to the event…simply amazing for two very simple reasons: 1) Pinot Noir ROCKS and 2) this phenomenal event takes place at The Cliffs Resort in Shell Beach, CA right above the Pacific Ocean and holy cow did we get lucky with a beautiful Central Coast day! With tons of Pinot Noir producers eager to share their best stuff with all of us, life doesn’t get much better than this! Crashing waves on one side and an endless supply of world class Pinots on the other is a dream come true!
Our normal plan of attack is to cruise the event to check the lay of the land, once we’ve done that we typically try to avoid the “overcrowded” tables because, well, wine event etiquette is typically horrific and we WILL be doing some articles about that. So our goal is to aim for tables that have a few or no people at them and we make numerous laps around the event so we end up hitting a very healthy number of wineries. With the exception of a few mishaps, we avoided the people that forget to pay attention to their surroundings.
You know the ones…they seem to lose sight of the fact that there are hundreds of other people all around them that want to get a taste of that wine, too! We’ll tell you all about our favorite Pinots soon…
We REALLY need to thank the World of Pinot Noir and The Cliffs Resort in Shell Beach for a truly breathtaking event…again! The event is very well put together and the only complaint we would have is outside their control…back to the “weird people” that don’t know how to behave in public.

Awww. I’m still hoping to learn which Pinots you two liked the most.
You’re right – the World of Pinot Noir was awesome. If you wanna compare notes, come on over to our website and see which ones we liked.
Also, the food? Wow. Had no idea THAT would happen (it was our first time attending).
