Here we are again to mention our three favorite wines from the month before. It seems the months are flying by and I don’t know if that’s because of the baby and how busy we are or how much wine we consume…oh well.
The reason we’ve been doing this post each month is to hopefully mention some wines that you either have not heard of or haven’t had and in return we like hearing about what you guys have been drinking that you enjoy or that is new to you. Remember, sharing is caring!
So, I pick my three favorite and Annie picks hers and they are not listed in any particular order.
Here’s Our Favorites Wines
Matt’s three favorite:
2012 J. Lohr Monterey County White Riesling (Our friend Jeanette brought this over one day and it simply hit the spot. Nice and chilled, tasted great.)
2011 Bodega de Edgar La Guera – White Wine (Had not had this before but really dig what he’s doing. Great wine, had it slightly chilled.)
2011 La Follette Chardonnay (Had not had this before either. Seemed pretty acidic, did not have with food but think it would be great with certain dishes. Enjoyed it though.)
Annie’s three favorite:
2010 Starr Ranch Terrestris (67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, 16% Petite Verdot) (Just super tasty, rich and smooth!)
2010 Clavo Cellars Albarino (Fun, crisp, perfect on a warm Summer day)
2010 McIntyre Chardonnay (The way I think Chardonnay should taste; rich, buttery, creamy, with a touch of oak!)
So there you have it. What did you enjoy last month?
Frederick says
We’re having a mostly ‘local’ summer this year, trying to focus our spending and consumption, including wine, as much as possible on the local level. Visited a tiny but exquisitely well-run vineyard in the wealthy beach community of Weekapaug,RI called Langworthy Farms a couple weeks ago and bought their superior Haversham Reserve Chardonnay. French-oaked, rich and buttery with a hint of grapefruit.

Frederick, your description of the Chard is right up our alley of what we normally like in a Chard. Sounds like you found a gem. Living here in Paso Robles we have roughly 230 wineries to choose from and we also focus on local. Not only are we supporting local businesses by doing so but the local stuff we drink the ore we learn about Paso and in turn can help tourists that come into town. Good times.
