Tooth & Nail Winery to Take Over the Castle

November 17, 2014 matt 4 Comments

If you’re like us, you’ve been wondering what would happen at the huge castle on 46 West that Eagle Castle used to call home. Well, now we know…and we’re excited to check it out!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New Paso Robles Winery Takes Over the Castle on 46 West

Tasting room will open before Thanksgiving

(PASO ROBLES, Calif.)- Rabble Wine Company, the winemaking arm of long-time Central Coast grape grower Rob Murray, is in the process of a major remodel of the former Eagle Castle Winery on 46 West in Paso Robles. The Company plans to open the new Tooth & Nail Winery in mid-November.

The Tooth & Nail Winery tasting room will pour wines from the company’s four brands: Tooth & Nail, Force of Nature, Stasis and Amor Fati.  The winery features a tasting room and library for tasting indoors and outdoor tasting terraces complete with misters, heaters and couches to enjoy wines by the glass or by the bottle.

Tooth & Nail Winery has stunning event terraces and the Amor Fati Room for hosting public and private events and weddings. In house chef Spencer Johnston, owner of Danior Catering, will offer food specifically paired with Tooth & Nail wines for winery guests.

Andrew Nelson, Rabble Wine Company partner and vice president of marketing and sales, said the rebuild “continues to be an ambitious project, but we are really excited to share our brands with visitors and locals of SLO County on our own home turf.”  “We have received such a warm welcome to the neighborhood, and we’re thrilled to be neighbors with some of North County’s finest winemakers.”

Nelson describes Tooth & Nail Wines as having “Central Coast flavors and edgy but fun, historical labels…the end result being a bottle of wine that truly over delivers.”  The tasting room is outfitted with edgy but comfortable décor all centered around  casual but passionate wine chat.

Nelson said he hopes visitors get in the spirit join in when when the winery staff is “geeking out” over a new wine release. General manager Jo Armstrong noted that “the tasting room and terrace will be open later than most, and we hope that locals will come by for an after work wind-down or an evening of live music under the stars.”

Rabble Wine has plenty of Central Coast connections.  The company was founded by Rob Murray, a grower and vineyard owner for over 18 years.  Murray owns and manages vineyards from Paso Robles to Santa Maria, with his own brands assuming roughly five percent of the grapes he farms.  Vice president of winemaking Robert Henson grew up in San Luis Obispo County and has an enology degree from California State University, Fresno, with winery, vineyard and restaurant experience from across California.  Vice president of marketing and sales and partner Andrew Nelson is a graduate of Cal Poly, as is Murray, in Agricultural Business.

For up to the moment information on opening dates, hours and upcoming events, Armstrong encourages liking the winery on Facebook, at Tooth and Nail Winery and Vineyard.

    Hey Guys:

If you haven’t been to Friday nights at the Castle yet, I hope you’ll check it out. A burger and a glass of Cab (or Tempranillo or whatever) for $20. I’ll be down again in a couple of weeks, but not on a Friday, unfortunately. Would be nice to have a glass of wine if you have time…I’ll be in touch.
