The ongoing adventure of getting to every single wine tasting room in Paso Robles continued as we recently visited Chateau Lettau. They are located downtown on 13th Street next to Grizzly Republic Winery and across from a Paso landmark, Vic’s Café. They are just a block off the park so a convenient stop for whatever it is you are doing downtown.
I enjoyed the vibe of the space. It was classy but casual, and with the big window looking out on to 13th Street allowed plenty of light as well as good people watching. You could belly up to the tasting bar or have a seat and they will come to you. This is another option I am noticing more and more tasting rooms provide…and I like the trend.
And the tasting menu consisted of:
2013 Starlet Chardonnay (85% Chardonnay 15% Grenache Blanc) $28.00
2013 Albarino $24.00
2012 Diva Pinot Noir $32.00
2012 Rockstar (58% Cabernet Sauvignon 32% Syrah 5% Petit Verdot 5% Grenache) $28.00
2010 Encore GSM (35% Grenache 35% Syrah 30% Mourvedre) $28.00
2012 Tannat $40.00
2010 Cabernet Sauvignon $40.00
The wines, in my opinion, were all solid. The standouts (for me) being the Albarino, the GSM, the Tannat (such a unique wine, not many in Paso Robles), and the Cab Sauv. This is one of those places that I would happily go back to and enjoy a glass of wine while, well…just lounging because clearly I need more lounging in my life. They have live music sometimes as well so that would be a good time to go of course.
That’s all I’ve got for now. Go check them out and let me know what you think.

They’re on 13th Street. I love going there and just chilling for a couple of hours and enjoying the people watching. Great place.

Ange, I screwed that up. LOL. Fixed it now. But yes, i think that is one on my list to go and hang at for a bit. Cool vibe!
