This new restaurant is in the old Artisan Restaurant building. The space has changed in some ways. It definitely doesn’t have the old Artisan feel. Or maybe it does but I’m so used to being in the old Artisan when it was dark and I was consuming adult beverages. Being in there on a bright sunny morning just felt weird. I’m nocturnal.
Annie, Sammy, and I went in to Nosh for breakfast the day after their grand opening, and I must say…it was a great meal. Annie had a vegetable and egg skillet and although I loved the breakfast menu I went with a lunch item, the BLTA (bacon, lettuce, tomato, and avocado with fries). It was one of the best BLTA’s I’ve had and the fries reminded me of In-N-Out Burger but these (in my opinion) were much better.
For those of you that remember the old Artisan, the small back dining room has changed from many dining tables to couch style seating and a few pub tables. Looks like a great place to relax once they get their evening tapas and drinks menu going.
Service was a touch slow but for their second day open, I knew it would be. It gets old when customers complain about “off service” when a place just opens. They are still getting their shizzle together so it’s all good. I’m sure they will get that all ironed out quite quickly.
It was cool that one of the owners was out chatting with each table and when she came over to us she talked with us but of course with Sammy. She even brought him one of those paper chef hats. All this to say that it seems like a cool group of people and I hope they are able to pull it off.
They are currently only doing breakfast and lunch, 7am to 3pm, and once they get their liquor license they plan on being open from 5pm to 8pm for tapas and drinks. Go check them out and let me know what you think.
